Welcome to Kansas City! Since you're new to the area we thought a fun Scavenger Hunt for New Residents was in order. Explore your new hometown with this self-guided scavenger hunt! Visit key landmarks, hidden gems, and local favorites — all while getting to know the neighborhoods and history of Kansas City.

HOW IT WORKS

Visit each location and snap a photo as proof!
Complete as many as you can — there’s no time limit.


Share your photos using the hashtag #sellingkansascity so we can all see your progress. Do it in any order you'd like! You will be entered into a drawing if you complete your New Resident Scavenger Hunt.

Take a pic by the Book Wall Shelf. The sight of the Community Bookshelf really stands out when you see it in downtown Kansas City. These life-size books, measured at 25 feet tall by 9 feet wide, are real-life book titles of some of Kansas City’s favorite reading materials.

The KC Streetcar is a free-to-ride public transit system in Kansas City, connecting downtown neighborhoods like the River Market, Union Station, and Crown Center. It runs on a two-mile route along Main Street, with 16 stops, and is designed to serve various businesses, restaurants, and attractions. The streetcar is part of a larger effort to connect Kansas City through public transit.
